February 2013 Goals Update

We started this year by planning out our goals on a monthly basis. We had a few curve balls this month and I got lazy on some of my goals, but I'm going to start March 1 with renewed dedication.

  1. Become debt free!
  2. Jarrod reads one non-fiction & Leanne reads one book
  3. Try a new recipe
  4. Go on one date
  5. Have one family activity
  6. Leanne walk 75% of days
Well, seeing it in black and white like that makes me a little disappointed. Here's where we are...
  1. We are not debt free. We anticipated receiving a large tax return, but that didn't happen. In addition, we also spent nearly $2,000 making Sophie healthy, which took money from our debt repayment. Thankfully, we are closer than we've ever been, but we aren't quite there. Because of these two set-backs, it looks like it'll be another 2 months or so before we're screaming about our debt-freedom.
  2. Jarrod has done a great job. He got a Kindle this month and has been a reading fool. I failed this month. Actually, I had a stack of books I intended to read and misplaced them somewhere. I plan to find them today and get started on one book.
  3. We did! We made several new recipes this month! Jarrod made mac and cheese and I made portobello pizzas, zucchini lasagna and chicken fingers. We rocked this goal!
  4. Um, no. We didn't really do this... We had intended on going out for Valentine's Day, but Sophie was sick so we opted to stay in. We did get take out and eat together after Wesley went to bed, but other than that, nothing.
  5. We went to a dinner dance fundraiser at the church together. It was so fun! We dressed like cowboys and spent the night dancing, eating, and having fun!
  6. I did a good job walking whenever I could. As Wesley is weaning, I am waking up at the same time and getting two miles in before work. I hope to continue this and even stretch this into 4 miles before work as I can.
March will be even better as we continue to meet our goals!
