June 2013 Goals Update

I thought June would be a slower month, but it wasn't! We traveled a lot and weren't really home more than we were in May. Thankfully, July looks like it is going to be at least a little bit slower. I'm really thankful that we have these goals because on the busiest of months I can remember that we're still moving in the right direction. Even when it doesn't feel like we're moving at all, at least we are aiming for something!

Here are our June goals:
  1. emergency fund done
  2. Jarrod reads one non-fiction & Leanne reads one book
  3. Try a new recipe
  4. Go on one date
  5. Have one family activity
  6. Leanne walk 75% of days

1. Seeing our financial goals in print makes me a little bit sad. We will make our final debt payment this month and then will focus on Jarrod's school payments and emergency fund. It'll be done soon... When I need a reminder, I go back to this post about how much money we're saving in interest payments!

2. I suck. I can't read. Every month I say that I'll read. I haven't. We have, however, picked back up at reading the Bible each night. And sometimes I'm caught up on my blog reading. I'll try harder next month... Jarrod on the other hand is an awesome reader. He needs less sleep than I do, I guess...

3. We tried lots of new recipes this month! Some of our favorites are:

4. Hmm... I don't think this happened... We already have a date scheduled for July. Maybe we should have 2!

5. We went to Annual Conference together, went to a splash park for Father's Day, and went to the kiddie pool the other day. Nothing too exciting, but at least the splash park and pool count as special days together.

6. I did this. I've been walking in the mornings at 6am nearly every workday and I take Wesley after breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. I don't get to walk much when I'm traveling overnight, so I try to walk every day that I'm home. Hopefully that averages out to more than 75%!

Whew... What a crazy month! I don't know why we decided to do a cleanse in the midst of this! :-)
