2015 Goals Recap

I didn't write about it, but I did make some goals for 2015. Not as concrete as I've done in the past with a print-out on our fridge, but I did track a few goals each day throughout the year.

  1. Fundraise $2,300 for the Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure by April. Thanks so incredible donors and a wonderful matching gift, I hit my goal with time to spare!! I've made a similar goal for 2016 except I've given myself until July to raise $4,600 because I'm walking in 2 events! (hint hint, you can donate here!) 
  2. Walk most days.  My goal for the past several years was to walk most days. For me, this means walking shoes on, outside, intentional walking. Some days I only went 1 mile, but most days I went 4-6 miles. I did really well with this goal and of the 365 days in 2015, I walked 357 of them. 
  3. Have one no-TV day per month. We don't watch a whole lot of TV around here, but we do turn it on for 10 minutes in the mornings or before bed and occasionally Wesley will watch a show while Eloise takes a nap. I LOVE our no-TV days so at the beginning of the year, I planned to take 1 no-TV day a month. We made every Saturday in Lent no-TV days, so that helped us get to 13 for the year, surpassing our goal! I'm still disappointed that this was even a goal, because that means we watch WAY too much TV, but I'm thankful we were able to meet this goal without any trouble. Maybe I'll up the goal to once per week for 2016!
I didn't come up with a word for the year. I think at the beginning of the year I hoped to just be present and survive! Jarrod was taking all the classes and I was adjusting to my new job and being home with the kids more. In that time the kids switched schools, which really changed my schedule. I've been present, but know that in 2016 I'll want to do more.
